Multi-year service, calibration and uptime inside 10-year total cost.
The range above is an indicative planning figure taken from our own research, not a quotation and not an offer. buytogethr is pre-launch and has closed no pools.
An AMC covers labour and preventive visits; a CMC is meant to cover parts as well, and the distance between the two is the exclusion list. Contracts routinely carve out precisely the components that fail: X-ray tubes, detectors, ultrasound probes, coils, batteries, glassware, and anything a supplier chooses to call a consumable. What the institution is really buying is a defined uptime with a defined remedy, engineers within reach, and parts held in the country. The costly mistake is sequencing – buying the machine on price and taking up maintenance when the warranty expires, at which point the supplier holds every card. Maintenance priced into the original award, across the full ten-year horizon, is a different negotiation.
Service is among the best pooling candidates, and it is what holds a group together after equipment is delivered. On its own, a mid-size hospital's installed base does not justify an engineer stationed nearby or a parts shelf in the state; the same equipment counted across a group does, and that is a commitment a supplier can be asked to make. The pooled unit is not a single price – rates properly follow each machine's age and model – but common contract language: uptime and how it is measured, response and resolution times, the exclusion list, and the escalation applied at each renewal.
