The range above is an indicative planning figure taken from our own research, not a quotation and not an offer. buytogethr is pre-launch and has closed no pools.

What you are actually buying

The purchase is a classroom build repeated across every room: an interactive flat panel with its touch layer, an integral or slot-in compute module, mounting, and the power and cabling the room needs to use it. Quotes vary on panel size, resolution, brightness, simultaneous touch points, anti-glare treatment and rated panel hours. The wider divergence is software. Teaching software may be perpetual or an annual per-device licence, content may or may not be included, and the panel may be tied to one vendor's cloud. Buyers compare panel prices with mounting, electricals and licensing outside the quote, then discover a room without power points and cable routing is not a working installation.

Why interactive classroom display panels suits collective purchasing

The hardware aggregates well and the software does not. One panel size, one mount and one specification repeat across every room and campus, so the group requirement is simply the room count, and smart classroom equipment is a natural fit for institutional aggregation. The hazard is lock-in. A panel bought against a proprietary annual licence converts a one-time pooled price into a recurring per-device charge that the group has no further leverage over once installed. Fixing licence term and renewal price inside the aggregated specification is what makes the pooling durable rather than temporary.

Pin down before price

  • Panel size, resolution, brightness, simultaneous touch points and rated panel hours
  • Compute module integral or slot-in, and the upgrade path when it ages before the panel
  • Licence type, per-device or per-school, with the renewal price fixed at award
  • Mounting type, wall or trolley, and whether room electricals and cabling are in scope
  • What remains usable on the panel if the content subscription is not renewed

What drives ten-year cost

  • Software and content licence renewals, which can outweigh the panel across ten years
  • Panel replacement cycle, and the brightness and dead-pixel thresholds the warranty accepts
  • On-site response time, because a failed panel takes a classroom out of teaching
  • Per-room electrical work and the running load across a full teaching day

How a pool for this runs

1
Aggregate the demand. Institutions register a requirement and a timeline. Nothing is committed and nothing is paid — the pool simply establishes how much demand exists in one window.
2
Standardise the specification. One technical specification is written for the pooled requirement, so every bidder quotes the same machine. Clinical and engineering specification is never traded away for price.
3
Qualify the suppliers. OEMs and authorised distributors are qualified on manufacturer authorisation, past performance, end-user certificates, financials and demonstration — before any price is opened.
4
Run the price competition. Only technically qualified bidders enter an online reverse auction, with a minimum decrement and automatic extension so the close cannot be sniped.
5
Award on ten-year cost. Lowest is judged on total cost of ownership over ten years — machine, turnkey, software, accessories, transport, insurance, taxes, warranty, maintenance contract, tubes, uptime and training.
6
Buy directly, individually. Each institution raises its own purchase order against the negotiated price and pays the OEM or dealer directly. buytogethr never takes title, never holds stock and never holds your money.
